Fleet Feet raising money for Valley Animal Center

Fresno retailer Fleet Feet Sports will launch “The Power of Running” campaign in-store and online Aug. 1.

The campaign has a nine-weekend fundraiser in partnership with Nathan Sports, Superfeet, Balega International, adidas, New Balance, Asics and Addaday. Portions of sales from select products will be donated to Valley Animal Center, a no-kill shelter that survives on community funding.

There are also Power Hour events, where Fleet Feet Sports stores nationwide try to log as many running miles as possible within an hour, with the first on Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. Three pairs of shoes are up for grabs as prizes for the person who logs the most miles, the person with the most creative costume and the person who brings the most people to the event.

The campaign also includes a national nomination contest to recognize runners and their community impact in late August and a fun run in September.

Fleet Feet Sports is at 9447 N. Fort Washington Road.
