Update: Woman killed in hit-and-run crash in Fresno identified by coroner
A woman died and another was injured early Monday in a two-vehicle crash in Fresno.
The collision happened at 12:22 a.m. at Chestnut and University avenues.
Officers arrived and found a white truck and a SUV that been involved in the fatal crash.
Fresno Police Lt. Leslie Williams said a white truck traveling north on Chestnut from McKinley collided with an SUV that was preparing to make a northbound turn onto Chestnut.
The driver of the SUV was ejected and her passenger was injured. The driver in the other vehicle fled on foot but was later detained, Williams said.
The woman killed was identified as 33-year-old Rosemarie Davis.
Officers are investigating whether or not alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision as well as speed.
