Motorcyclist killed in crash after colliding with an RV in Madera County, CHP says

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon after losing control in Madera County.

The crash happened at 3:50 p.m. at Highway 49 and Hilltop Lane, CHP officer Jeremy Buttgereit said.

The rider, described to be a 20-year-old from Lemoore, was riding his motorcycle on southbound Highway 49 just south of Hilltop Lane.

A 26-year-old driver in an RV was heading northbound on Highway 49 in a curve when the motorcyclist wasn’t able to keep his motorcycle in his lane and sideswiped the RV, Buttgereit said.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver in the other vehicle wasn’t injured.

Alcohol and drugs are not suspected, CHP said.
