One person dies as SUV collides with semi-truck at Fresno County intersection, CHP says

One person died in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on Kamm Avenue southeast of Fresno.

The collision happened around 1:20 p.m., according to a CHP report.

An SUV failed to stop at a posted sign and was hit by a commercial semi-truck, which was traveling west on Kamm at Jameson Avenue and had the right-of-way, according to the CHP.

The crash damaged both vehicles and pushed them into an almond orchard, where the truck rolled on it side.

The driver of the SUV, whose name is being withheld pending notification, died at the scene. He was described as a 53-year-old man from Riverdale.

The driver of the semi-truck had minor injures, the CHP said.
