Pedestrian badly injured after vehicle hits him. Clovis police say he wasn’t in crosswalk

Clovis Police

A pedestrian was taken to a hospital after he was struck by a vehicle Friday night in Clovis.

Officers with the Clovis Police Department responded just after 7 p.m. of a person down in the roadway on Peach Avenue, north of Ashlan Avenue.

Officers found the man lying in the roadway and was taken to a local hospital. He was listed in critical condition.

Police department spokesman Ty Wood said the driver of the vehicle struck the man — who was crossing outside of a crosswalk on Peach.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative.

Alcohol or drugs were not suspected in the collision, Wood said.
