Maintenance issues at a Huron community center are forcing Fresno County election officials to relocate a voting center that was to open on Saturday for the March 5 primary election.

Instead of people voting or turning in ballots at the John Palacios Community Center on 4th Street, the vote center is being moved less than a mile away to Huron City Hall at 17051 12th St., according to the Fresno County Clerk/Registrar of Voters office.

The voting hours for the new location will be unchanged, County Clerk James Kus said. The vote center at Huron City Hall will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday; on Election Day, Tuesday, March 5, the center will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Kus said the county hopes to have the vote center return to the Palacios Community Center site for the November general election. Details: votefresnocounty.com or (559) 600‐VOTE (8683).
