Coroner ID’s the men involved in the crash at Fresno intersection. More details revealed

The two men that were killed early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash west of Highway 99 have been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

They were identified as Francisco Ramirez Villalobos, 41, and 68-year-old Joe Herrera Jr.

Officers responded shortly after 2 a.m. to Clinton and Marks avenues after the crash involving a GMC Sierra and Nissan Versa.

Sgt. Diana Truba Vega said on Monday that the GMC Sierra, with two occupants, was traveling westbound on Clinton at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at a red light before colliding with Herrera, who was southbound on Marks.

Police said officers arrived and began rendering aid to the victims.

Villalobos, who was the GMC Sierra driver, and Herrera, who was in the other vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third person had minor injuries.
