Caltrans announces rest area closures near Coalinga

The Coalinga-Avenal safety roadside rest areas along both directions of northbound and southbound Interstate 5 will be closed starting Monday until Aug. 3, Caltrans reports.

Each location is scheduled to be closed to repair wastewater pumps, electrical panels, painting of curbs, pressure washing of concrete and general landscape operations at both locations.
