Roadway Hazard: An illustrative photo of a car crushed by two big rigs

A couple of crashes on Highway 99 in Fresno County were expected to delay traffic on Monday morning, Caltrans said.

A crash involving a big rig in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 at Clinton Avenue in Fresno about 9 a.m. had traffic backed up for close to 4 miles, Caltrans said on social media.

Officials said two lanes were blocked and commuters should expect delays.

A second crash about 45 minutes later occurred in the Selma area on the side of the freeway headed north near the Second Street exit, Caltrans said.

That crash involved five cars and one lane was blocked, officials said. Delays were also expected in the Selma area.
