Firebaugh woman remains missing after her burned car is found in Madera County

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday was asking the public for help in finding Melanie Stephanie Rios Camacho, 19, of Firebaugh, who disappeared Friday night.

Officials and family were especially concerned because Camacho’s white 2014 Nissan Altima was found abandoned and burned Saturday at Road 25 near Avenue 14 in rural Madera County.

Camacho was last seen about 10:15 p.m. at the AutoZone on Gateway Drive in Madera, where she works. She was wearing a gray AutoZone shirt, possibly covered by a black sweater, and black pants. Her family said they have not heard from her, according to sheriff’s officials.

Camacho is 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, with braces on her teeth.

Anyone with information about Camacho’s location is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 559-675-7770, or to call 911 if they see Camacho.
