Motorcyclist injured in a collision with a vehicle in Fresno. He was unconscious

A man is in the hospital Sunday night after he was ejected while riding a motorcycle in Fresno.

Officers went to Kings Canyon Road and Fowler Avenue around 5:45 p.m. on reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle.

Fresno police Lt. Leslie Williams said the rider, in his 50s, was traveling southbound on Fowler and ended up colliding with the back of a vehicle that was at a red light to make a left turn.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle, Williams said. He was taken to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Williams said the motorcyclist was unconscious when officers arrived before he regained consciousness at the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was also taken to the hospital for a complaint of pain.

Williams said it doesn’t appear that the rider was riding at a high rate of speed when the collision occurred.

The roadway was closed for at least an hour.
