A man is in the hospital after he was struck by another vehicle Thursday night in southeast Fresno.

The collision happened at around 11:30 p.m., near the intersection of South Chestnut and East Jensen avenues.

Fresno police Lt. Henry Garcia said the man was stranded and was outside his vehicle to check on it when another vehicle clipped him and the vehicle.

Officers and EMS arrived to give aid to the victim. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the other vehicle remained on scene and was cooperative, Garcia said.

He added that alcohol and drugs are not a factor in the collision.
