Yokuts Valley fire: Evacuation warning from sheriff briefly issued as fire grew to 40 acres
Fresno County firefighters Tuesday evening were attempting to control a 40 acre fire in Yokuts Valley.
The fire erupted in the 45000 block of Longview Road, and several structures were threatened. The blaze quickly spread from 20 to 40 acres and firefighters were calling for additional resources.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office initially issued evacuation warnings for the area, including all side roads from the Sand Creek Fire Station at 41510 Sand Creek Rd to Sans Baker Rd, and Chuckwagon Rd., including all side roads from Sand Creek Rd. through Sesame Ln. (Zone K82). The warnings were later rescinded.
The fire started in the area of Butterfly Lane and was moving in a northeastern direction.
