Update: Power restored after PG&E outage in northwest Fresno

Update: The power has since been restored, according to PG&E.

Original story: More than 1,900 users were without power Monday in Fresno as temperatures climbed past triple digits, according to PG&E.

The power failed about 10:50 a.m. for homes and businesses on Herndon Avenue between Polk Avenue and Highway 99, the power company reported.

The 1,918 users were experiencing the power outage due to the weather, PG&E said.

There was not an immediate estimate for when the power would be back.

The expected high for Monday was about 108 degrees following a weekend where highs passed 110. This week has highs predicted above 105 through the weekend.
