Coughing fit causes Fresno chain-reaction collision, slows commute on Shaw Avenue

Traffic was slowed Monday afternoon at Eastbound Shaw Avenue at Brawley Avenue after a chain-reaction collision, the Fresno Police Department reported.

The incident began just after 3 p.m., when a driver suffered a coughing fit and veered into a light pole. That caused the pole to topple onto another vehicle. Neither driver suffered serious injuries.

All lights at the intersections were out because of the crashes.
