Thieves steal vehicle, safe with $5k in Orange Cove

Fresno County sheriff’s detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify two men caught on camera Sunday breaking into a home in Orange Cove, stealing a pickup truck and a safe containing $5,000.

The homeowner’s video surveillance camera captured images of two men hopping a fence on the property on the 25000 block of East Manning Avenue around 2:30 p.m.

The homeowner told deputies that his cyclone gate at the driveway was damaged, the front door had been forced in and the home was ransacked. The suspects dragged a large gun safe out of the house, which reportedly contained $5,000 in cash, and stole a brown 1993 Ford F150 pickup truck with California license plate number 4V06704.

The empty safe was recovered Monday in an orchard near Road 96 and Avenue 388, south of Dinuba in Tulare County.

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (559) 600-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP (7867).
