Sheriff: Visalia man resists arrest, charged with making criminal threats

Tulare County sheriff’s deputies took a man into custody for allegedly making criminal threats at Horse Creek camp grounds early Sunday morning.

Deputies responded early Sunday to a call from the 37800 block of Sierra Drive at Lake Kaweah, near Three Rivers. The victim told deputies an unknown male, later identified as Shaun Miller, 35, of Visalia, had threatened to kill him after an argument.

The victim said Miller was armed with three knives and a handgun.

Deputies located Miller and say he admitted to being in an argument with the victim. He also said he had a knife but did not threaten the victim with it. A check of the area revealed no handguns.

Miller resisted deputies while being arrested, the Sheriff’s Department said. He was taken into custody and charged with making criminal threats. He was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center to treat minor abrasions suffered while resisting arrest.

Miller was then booked at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility without further incident.
