Man drowns at Skaggs Bridge Park
A 50-year-old man drowned Sunday at Skaggs Bridge Park, Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.
Lt. Rick Ko said that around 2:50 p.m. a female was struggling in the water at the park, on the San Joaquin River north of Kerman.
Several people swam out to rescue the woman, Ko said. The woman was saved but one of the rescuers disappeared under the water.
Ko said a search team of four divers and one sergeant eventually found the body underwater. The man’s name was not released Sunday night.
Last month, a 9-year-old boy drowned at the park.
