Two girls injured when a vehicle collides with them in a crosswalk in Fresno, police say

Two girls were hospitalized Monday evening after they were struck by a vehicle in northeast Fresno.

The collision took place at 7:45 p.m. at Fresno Street and Alluvial Avenue when three juveniles were in a crosswalk and two were struck by a vehicle that was traveling north on Fresno Street on a green light, Fresno Police Lt. Leslie Williams said.

A 11-year-old was listed in critical condition, police said, and the 13-year-old sustained broken bones and was stable.

The boy wasn’t injured.

Williams said the driver had the right-of-way and remained on scene and was cooperative.

Alcohol and drugs were not a factor, Williams said.
