Multiple closures on Highway 99 in Fresno for emergency Caltrans repairs, agency says
Officials abruptly closed multiple lanes of Highway 99 on Wednesday morning for emergency repairs, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The need for emergency repairs at a Caltrans facility led to the closures as of about 8:30 a.m., according to posts on Facebook and Twitter from the same time.
Caltrans gave no timeline for the length of the closure for the section near downtown.
Officials closed:
- The slow lane of southbound 99 between Highway 180 and Fresno Street
- The eastbound connector of Highway 180 to southbound Highway 99
- The Stanislaus Street off-ramp from southbound Highway 99
