Water line break leaves nearly half Shaver Lake-area residents without service

A Shaver Lake water main break Tuesday afternoon cut power to about 40% of customers in the Sierra Community, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The break took place in the area of Timber Ridge Road and Bretz Mill Road, leaving condominiums nearby without water. Service was not expected to be restored some time Wednesday. Storm conditions were making repairs by Fresno County workers difficult, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

However, workers were able to isolate the leak, restoring service to the Granite Ridge, Quartz Mountain, and Timber Ridge neighborhoods, the spokesman said.
