Driver of pickup truck killed in Fresno County crash. Two others taken to hospital

A 69-year-old man who died in a collision was identified Monday by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

Billy Wilhite of Laton was the driver of a Dodge Ram truck killed on Friday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Wilhite’s truck rear-ended a black Range Rover around 3:20 p.m. on Highway 41 and East Mountain View Avenue near Caruthers. The pickup continued through the crash and eventually hit a fence. Wilhite was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CHP said the Range Rover’s driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital with what were believed to be life-threatening injuries. Neither alcohol nor drugs don’t appear to be a factor in the collision.
