A man was found dead lying at the edge of an agricultural field Wednesday in Fresno County, according to deputies.

Field workers reported finding the body about 7 a.m. near East and American avenues, Fresno County Sheriff’s spokesperson Tony Botti said

Emergency responders arrived to pronounce him dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office is investigating the death as “questionable” because of the location, Botti said.

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause of death, he said.

The man’s identity was not available Wednesday, but Botti confirmed it was not 86-year-old Ulysses Carr, an at-risk adult who has been missing from his Fresno home for 12 days.
