Highway 99 to close in Madera County starting Sunday night

Detours will take drivers off of Highway 99 in Madera County next week so crews can make improvements to an interchange, Caltrans said.

The closures will happen on Highway 99 between Avenue 9 and Avenue 12.

Northbound traffic will close starting at 11 p.m. Sunday and remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday. Starting Tuesday, southbound traffic will close as well.

The closures will continue each night and will be in effect until the morning of July 17, Caltrans said.

Construction crews will be making improvements to the interchange at Avenue 12 throughout the week, Caltrans said.
