Two animal abuse cases in three days at same Fresno address
Two abused dogs were discovered by police officers Monday and Wednesday at the same residence in the 3000 block of East Grant Avenue in Fresno, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the apparently vacant home Monday morning in response to a Facebook post that showed a dog infested with ticks. An officer had to remove boards from the fence to gain access to the yard, where he found the dog chained and covered in ticks. The dog was removed by the Central California SPCA.
A second dog was found dead at the same address Wednesday morning, police said. Workers with the CCSPCA received a call about the dog hanging from a wire and unable to move.
The police department said it has opened an animal-abuse investigation.
