Coroner identifies 20-year-old woman killed in crash near Madera Community College
A 20-year-old Madera woman has been identified as the victim in a fatal car crash near Madera Community College.
Monique Danielle Arang died last Tuesday when her car collided with a power pole on Avenue 12 near Road 30 around 2:45 a.m.
The Madera County Coroner’s Office confirmed her identity on Monday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Arang was driving east on Avenue 12 when she veered off the road. The car spun out as Arang tried to correct back on to the road and it struck a power pole on the driver’s side.
The CHP said at the time alcohol may have played a role in the crash, but the investigation was on going.
