Motorcycle rider seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision in Fresno County, CHP says
A man riding a motorcycle was seriously injured in a crash Saturday afternoon in Clovis.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the two-vehicle collision at 5:26 p.m. at Highway 168 and North Academy Avenue when a man riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a vehicle and was ejected, Sgt. Tim Ray said.
The 61-year-old man was wearing a skull cap, but it became detached, and the rider’s head struck the ground on the eastbound lanes of Highway 168.
He was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, Ray said.
Ray said the motorcycle rider was driving behind a 2015 Scion, driven by a 59-year-old woman. The woman slowed to make a left turn when the motorcycle rider failed to slow down and collided with the vehicle’s left rear.
The woman provided medical aid to the injured man.
Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the collision, Ray said.
