Pedestrian dies after being struck by car in Visalia

A man died Thursday night after he was hit by a car while crossing a Visalia road, police said.

Sgt. James Andrews said the man, who has yet to be identified, was walking across Dinuba Boulevard just south of Vine Avenue at 9:45 p.m. when he was hit by a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis.

The man was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash is under investigation.
