Update: Wildfire contained at Millerton Lake in Fresno County. Sheriff lifts evacuations

UPDATE: Firefighters have gotten a handle on the fire, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office reported at 11:25 a.m. All evacuation notices have been lifted.

ORIGINAL STORY: Firefighters are fighting a wildfire at Millerton Lake on Wednesday and evacuating homes in the area, according to officials.

The fire near Sky Harbour and Aqua Vista roads is just a few acres but could threaten structures in the area, Cal Fire officials said.

The flames were climbing north.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office issued an evacuation order for some on the 27000 block of Aqua Vista. Evacuation warnings are being placed in other areas.

Sky Harbour Road is closed to traffic to allow emergency vehicles access. The sheriff’s office recommended avoiding the area.
