Fresno cemetery hosts 59th annual Memorial Day service honoring fallen troops

The Fresno Memorial Gardens hosted its annual Memorial Day event Monday to honor those who died in service to the nation.

The cemetery on Cornelia Avenue off of Whitesbridge Avenue hung a banner with the names of fallen troops in this its 59th observance of the day.

Flags flew as many people brought flowers to place at the graves of their loved ones and to honor service men and women.

Multiple sites around Fresno County held services or other events for the same purpose.
