The Clovis Police Bomb Squad detonated a suspicious box that caused a major street to be closed for about four hours Monday evening.

The box turned out to be a safe, according to Clovis Police Sgt. Jim Koch. The safe contained personal items inside but nothing life-threatening, Koch said.

The intersection of Willow and Spruce avenues was reopened to traffic about 9 p.m. Koch said police will be reviewing surveillance video to try and find the owner of the safe.
