Update: 86-year-old Fresno man with dementia found after he went missing overnight
UPDATE: The 86-year-old Fresno man who was reported missing on Friday was found Saturday morning. Tony Botti, Fresno County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said Charlie Diaz is in good spirits and has been reunited with family.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find 86-year-old Charlie Diaz of Fresno.
Diaz was last seen around 6 p.m. Friday walking in a neighborhood near Barstow and Forkner avenues in a county island within northwest Fresno. He was wearing a grey thermal shirt, grey jogger sweatpants and dark-colored slippers.
Sheriff’s deputies said Diaz has dementia and it’s critical that he be found as soon as possible.
Diaz is 5 feet 5 inches, 130 pounds with brown eyes. He is bald, wears glasses and has a tattoo of the letters “VV” on his right arm. He also has a colostomy bag on his left side and does not have any teeth.
A Silver Alert has been activated through the California Highway Patrol.
Anyone who recalls seeing someone resembling Diaz or who may have given him a ride is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center immediately by dialing 559-600-3111.
