Attic fire in Visalia home causes extensive damage

A home in southwest Visalia erupted in flames Wednesday morning, causing extensive damage to the property, according to the Visalia Police Department.

The resident returned to the home at 4137 W. Howard Court that morning to find more than $100,000 in damages after spending the night at a relative’s due to problems with the air conditioning unit.

The fire started in the attic area, but the cause is still under investigation.
