Motorcycle rider killed in collision on Fresno street identified. It was possible road rage

The motorcycle rider who was killed Monday in a crash on Blackstone Avenue in a possible road rage-induced chase was identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Kair Saephan, 44, of Fresno.

Police said the incident began about 9 a.m. near Fresno Street and Shields Avenue, where a black Scion may have been chasing the man, who was riding a street-style motorcycle.

The crash happened a few moments later on Blackstone Avenue near Saginaw Way, police said, though officers have yet to determine the exact cause of the collision.

Police are not sure if it’s an intentional act or a complete accident.

The motorcycle caught fire in the collision, and Saephan was taken to an area hospital, where he died.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
