Car crashes through corner of restaurant in Fresno. Driver was picking up pizza, police say
A car crashed into a Little Caesars pizza restaurant in east-central Fresno on Wednesday morning.
The black sedan went through the corner of the building at Shields and Cedar avenues around 11:15 a.m. carrying only the driver, according to officer Felipe Uribe.
The driver was headed to the restaurant to get pizza, police said.
The car came to a stop after crashing through the wall and windows, and possibly an electrical box, Uribe said. Emergency personnel were assessing the damage, he said.
The rear driver’s corner of the car was still inside the building when the car came to rest. An employee was inside the restaurant, surveying the damage, while others continued to work.
Police officers checked the man who was driving the car, and he did not report any injuries, Uribe said. He attributed the crash to operator error.
