At least seven people were displaced from two homes after a two-alarm fire broke out Thursday night at a southeast Fresno home.

Just before 7 p.m. fire crews were called to the area of South Barton and East Huntington avenues for a fire that had broken out at a home, Battalion Chief Thomas Cope said.

Crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from one home and fire spread to a garage adjoining both homes. All residents were outside of the home and crews worked quickly to get the fire under control.

Around seven or eight residents were displaced due to flame and smoke damage to both homes.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
