‘Giving us an extra hand.’ Robot delivering pancakes and smiles at Clovis restaurant

Whistling a song to itself as it passes customers, a robot is serving pancakes, burgers and more at an IHOP in Clovis.

Restaurant manager Maria Cantoriano said Wednesday the robot was only on its third day of work but has already proven itself as a valuable solution to short-staffing.

It also has becoming quite popular with requests to be served by it from customers.

Leased to the IHOP by Richtech Robotics, the robot follows tracks in the ceiling to deliver plates for human servers to unload at tables.

The robot can even deliver a rendition of “Happy Birthday.”

The robot had not yet been named.
