Uribe said a man in a pickup truck was traveling north on Chestnut when he made a U-turn into southbound traffic at a high-rate of speed. The driver then lost control of the vehicle, causing it to drive onto the sidewalk and collided with a bus stop. The victim, in his 70s, was near the bus stop was also struck by the vehicle.
The man struck was taken to a hospital for major head injuries and was rushed into surgery. He was listed in critical but stable condition.
