Victim of crash on Highway 41 in downtown Fresno identified. Investigation continues

The woman killed in a crash on Highway 41 in downtown Fresno was identified as Gloria Ramirez, 28, of Fresno, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office said Thursday.

Ramirez died when her Infinity G35 went out of control on southbound 41 sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The vehicle plunged down a steep embankment, overturned several times, and ejected Ramirez, who was not wearing a seatbelt, according to CHP spokesman Mike Salas.

Salas said the victim was not discovered for several hours because the crash was not visible from the roadway in the darkness. Officers initially did not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, but Salas said toxicology tests would be part of the investigation.
