Update: Students at Reagan Educational Complex in Clovis released as scheduled after threat
UPDATE: Students at the Reagan Educational Center in Clovis rare being released as scheduled following a facility alert, Clovis Unified reported at 2:45 p.m. Friday.
“Law enforcement is continuing their investigation into a social media post threatening the safety of our campus, and have cleared students to leave campus as scheduled at the end of school,” the district said.
“To allow for reduced traffic around our campus, students will leave classes on a staggered schedule, and as a result buses may be slightly delayed on their normal routes. Parents who typically pick their students up from school can do so using the following pick up locations:
“Reyburn Intermediate students can be picked up west of the Reyburn gym and Clovis East High School students being picked up will be released from east of the 700 wing facing Leonard Avenue.”
ORIGINAL STORY: Two Clovis schools were placed on alert Friday as police investigated a threatening social media post.
The Reagan Education Center was placed on facility alert around 1:25 p.m., Clovis Unified School District spokesperson Patti Lippert said.
Students at the REC on campus at Clovis East High and Reyburn Intermediate schools remain in sixth period at this time.
Lippert said the alert came out of an abundance of caution as authorities investigate the post “rumoring a threat to student safety.”
During a facility alert students remain indoors and continue class, but movement outside of buildings is limited and students cannot be picked up from campus.
