Possible oil spill shuts down highways in Fresno. How long will they be closed?

Traffic Alert

Southbound Highway 99 near the Highway 180 connector in central Fresno was closed Wednesday afternoon because of a possible oil spill, Caltrans reported.

The California Highway Patrol traffic log reported a yellow slippery substance at 2:43 p.m. and vehicles were sliding.

It was not known what caused the spill.

Southbound 99 at the Belmont Avenue on-ramp was closed for at least two hours with full closure at lanes two to four.
