Was parking lot crash at a Fresno Applebee’s a hit-run or something more? What police know
Fresno police are investigating a crash in a parking lot outside a north Fresno restaurant that sent a man to the hospital Tuesday night.
The victim was found outside the Applebee’s on North Friant Road and North Fresno Street around 10:41 p.m. with injuries to his head and torso, according to Lt. Sean Biggs.
Police also found a car in the parking lot that appeared to have been hit.
The man may have gotten into a disturbance with someone in the parking lot, Biggs said, but police don’t know how that may have led to the crash or whether the man was intentionally hit. If so, that would be investigated as an assault. At the very least, it looks to be an accidental hit-and-run accident.
Police are looking for a silver Audi as a possible suspect vehicle, Biggs said.
The man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and underwent surgery. He is listed in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon.
