Woman dies in a two-vehicle crash in Fresno County after overshooting her turn, CHP says

A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash late Saturday afternoon in Fresno County.

California Highway Patrol spokesman Mike Salas said the crash happened at 4:20 p.m., at West Jensen and Sycamore avenues when a Toyota Camry and Jeep Grand Cherokee collided.

The woman was driving the Camry and going westbound Jensen Avenue, west of Sycamore Avenue, while a man was traveling in the Grand Cherokee going eastbound Jensen Avenue.

The woman then overshot her turn at Sycamore Avenue and made a U-turn directly in front of the Jeep on the driver’s side, Salas said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The four occupants in the Jeep were taken to Fresno Community Regional Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries.

Drugs and alcohol were not a factor, Salas said. All were wearing a seat-belt.
