City repairing broken water main in northeast Fresno

A broken water main in northeast flooded streets overnight, but no customers were left without service, city officials said Tuesday.

Spokeswoman Sontaya Rose said the center of the outage was on East Behymer Avenue between Chestnut and Willow avenues, where a 24-inch pipe, installed in 2000, failed.

The cause was under investigation. The city’s water division worked to repair it through the day.
