Fresno man, 27, killed in early-morning Highway 41 rollover crash, CHP says

A 27-year-old Fresno man was killed in a crash along Highway 41 early Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man was driving a 2004 Dodge Durango with three passengers south on Highway 41 when suddenly the Dodge veered onto the northbound lane, according to CHP Madera unit spokesman Gregorio Rodriguez.

The Dodge overturned on the southbound lane, just north of Road 406, and was later struck on the driver side by an oncoming 2007 Nissan Altima, Rodriguez said. Officers were dispatched to the crash around 4:26 a.m.

The driver of the Nissan was taken to Madera Community Hospital with reportedly major injuries. The passengers in the Dodge suffered minor injuries, Rodriguez said.

Neither driver was identified by the CHP and the crash remains under investigation.
