A 59-year-old Fresno man died in a solo vehicle crash on Highway 180 in Fresno, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Sgt. Matt Radke said the crash happened around 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Lorrell Stark of Fresno. Stark was driving a silver 2004 Ford Mustang westbound toward Blackstone Avenue when, for unknown reasons, the car hit the median wall, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Other drivers who were first to arrive at the crash scene told the CHP the victim was unconscious, and they broke a window to get to help.

A Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy and a Fresno police sergeant arrived on scene and took over medical aid until EMS arrived.

Stark was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Radke said alcohol and drugs are not suspected.
