Firefighters battle two large house fires in Clovis
Over 40 firefighters responded to battle a blaze that destroyed two home in Clovis on Friday afternoon.
According to Clovis Fire Chief John Binaski, fire crews were called to the area of Keats and Harvard avenues, north of Shaw Avenue and east of Minnewawa Avenue, for reports of a residential fire. Crews arrived and found one of two homes engulfed in flames.
Binaski said a fire started in one home and spread to the second home starting in the attic area. Crews began working on containing the flames and stopped the spread to a third home.
According to Binaski, residents in the second home were inside when the fire started but got out unharmed. Residents of both homes have been displaced. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
