Parents of missing Madera boy have stopped cooperating as search continues, police say
The parents of a 2-year-old Madera boy who has been missing a week stopped cooperating early in the investigation, police said Tuesday.
Thaddeus Sran went missing from a home on the 800 block of C Street in Madera sometime after 10 p.m. July 14 when his parents told police they put him to bed. He was discovered missing at 8:30 a.m. July 15.
“We believe their assistance in this case would be helpful,” Lt. Josiah Arnold said in a statement. “We are hopeful that they will resume cooperating with Madera Police Department detectives and help us to locate Thaddeus.
“Please know that there are many aspects of this investigation that we cannot comment on publicly at this time. But, we will not stop looking for Thaddeus.”
A grid search by different agencies began soon after the boy was reported missing and ended on Friday.
Police, however, say they and other agencies are continuing the search. Community members are also helping look for the missing boy as investigators look into a variety of tips and leads.
Thaddeus was born prematurely and has a feeding tube, police said. He is also non-verbal, recently learned to walk, needs special care and crawls to get around.
Thaddeus was last seen wearing a red shirt and Spiderman pants with a diaper underneath. He is approximately 2-feet tall and 30 pounds.
Police said they’ll continue to give updates for significant developments.
