Man shot at Fresno apartment complex. Investigators don’t have much to go on

Investigators don’t have much to go on as they search for three suspects in a shooting at an east-central Fresno apartment complex early Saturday.

Police were called to the complex in the 1400 block of North Peach Avenue, south of McKinley Avenue, for a report of a shooting shortly after 1:30 a.m. When officers arrived, the found the victim with gunshot injuries.

The victim, a man in his 30s, told officers that he was walking through the apartment complex when he exchanged words with three men and was shot, according to the Fresno Police Department. Published reports indicated that the man was struck in the leg by three rounds fired by one of the men.

Police said the victim was uncooperative with investigators and refused to provide a description of the suspects except to say they were three Hispanic men.

The victim’s condition was not known at midday Saturday, but police said the injuries were not life-threatening.

One apartment in the complex, which is located south of Fresno Yosemite International Airport, was struck by a stray gunshot, police said.
