Suspects evaded arrest in Tulare County slaying for 7 years; their luck ran out, sheriff says

Two men sought since 2013 in connection with a fatal stabbing in Terra Bella are in custody, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Homicide detectives announced the arrest of Alex Torres, 29, and Luis Mejia, 40, both of Terra Bella, in the slaying of Gabriel Alvarado, 41, who was stabbed to death at a party on June 8 in the 9800 block of Road 236.

They were booked into the Tulare County Jail..
